HOUSE BUILD
Changing lives... forever.

Homes of Hope have built over 5000 homes around the world for families living without adequate shelter, bringing hope to needy, hard-working families. Volunteers with M10 have built 20 of those homes in Mexico. Included in a young person’s fundraising is the cost of providing all the materials for a house, including a wonderful furniture package: something that we give as an added surprise to the family .
We desire to partner with previous volunteers, their families and friends and wider businesses to be able to build extra houses when we are in Ensenada, providing more families with safe homes. BURSARY
"Julie's mum died when Julie was young*. She lived, for a while, with her dad, before being moved into her grandma's care. When her grandma died, she found herself abandoned by her dad and living with her aunt. At the time we were connected with Julie, she was struggling. She was strong and resilient, but she had been through so much. Her head of year believed that going to Mexico would be an amazing opportunity for her, but there was no way she was going to be able to raise the funds needed. Through generous gifts to our Bursary fund, we were able to support Julie with the cost of the trip and the things she needed to be able to go to Ensenada.
'The trip showed me that I can do whatever I put my mind to. If I can go to Mexico to build a house for another family, I can achieve whatever I want to do here.'
Our aim is to make the trip to Mexico available to students irrespective of their family's economic situation. Fundraising is challenging for everyone. It takes time, connections, creativity and resilience. We recognise that for many families, the desire to give their child the opportunity to go to Mexico may be high but the realities of raising the amount needed is an almost impossible task for them. Our bursary means that school leaders can draw our attention to students who have expressed an interest, but are hesitant to apply due to the cost of the trip against their family's financial situation.
We still receive updates from students like Julie, who continue to be grateful for the experience and who are still feeling the impact of their trip in their lives.
